The ideal way to start your EA Global experience is with a comprehensive 80,000 Hours career workshop on Friday afternoon. Half of the people who have attended so far have changed what they plan to do with their lives, so its an afternoon well spent.

Youll leave with a much better idea of who you want to meet and what you want to learn over the rest of the weekend. Heres what 80,000 Hours will cover: 1) What is a dream job anyway? - Well take you through what the latest psychology research shows is most important for being satisfied with your work. 2) In which career can you have the greatest social impact? - What is social impact, and what options are there beyond nonprofits and teaching? 3) Which jobs put you in a better position for the future? - Well cover what to look for in your first couple of jobs and some especially promising options to consider. 4) How to figure out where youll excel - Well show you how to figure out where you have the best chances of performing at a very high level 5) How to put together your plan - Well tell you how to figure out which options are best for you and make a plan for the coming years. And we wont just tell you to follow your passion. You probably shouldnt come if youve spent more than 4 hours working through 80,000 Hours online career guide already. However, if youre in that camp, 80,000 Hours is doing an advanced workshop spread out over Saturday and speed-coaching on Sunday.
